Portrait Painting

“Drawing is not what one sees, but what one can make others see.“― Edgar Degas

I find this quote to be especially true when painting portraits. In the past few weeks I have experimented by painting some family portraits. My key purpose was to loosen my brush strokes, while attempting to capture the spirit of each child. My biggest challenge was to portray the personality of each child so that whoever looks at the painting can have a tiny peek into their nature. I hope I have achieved this, either way, I have enjoyed painting all these smiles!
